Graphic design that communicates clearly, looks considered and represents your business at its best.
Design is how your business presents itself to the world before anyone has spoken to you, read your website or seen your work.
Design is how your business presents itself to the world before anyone has spoken to you, read your website or seen your work. A logo that looks amateur, a brochure that feels generic, a brand that does not quite hold together — these things create an impression that is difficult to undo. Good graphic design does the opposite. It signals that the business behind it takes itself seriously and expects to be taken seriously in return.
The work I do covers both print and digital — brand identity, logo design, marketing materials, digital assets, presentation design and visual communication of all kinds. The medium is less important than the underlying question: does this look right, does it communicate clearly, and does it represent the business the way it deserves to be represented?
Every project starts from the same place: a clear understanding of what the design needs to do, who it needs to speak to, and what impression it needs to create. From there the work is a process of finding the visual solution that answers those questions as well as possible — not the most fashionable solution, not the most obvious one, but the right one.
What this involves
Graphic design work varies considerably depending on what is needed. Some clients come with a clearly defined brief. Others know roughly what they need but not how to get there. Both are fine starting points.
Brand identity and logo design
A brand identity is more than a logo. It is a system — the typefaces, colours, visual language and design principles that make your business recognisable and consistent across every context it appears in. Logo design is handled as part of that system, not in isolation from it.
Print design
Brochures, flyers, business cards, stationery, signage, exhibition graphics and any other printed material. Print design requires a different set of considerations from digital work — colour accuracy, print-ready file preparation, bleed and resolution — all of which are handled correctly as a matter of course.
Digital design and assets
Social media graphics, email templates, digital brochures, presentation decks, display advertising and any other digital design work. Digital assets are produced in the correct formats and at the correct specifications for the platforms and contexts they will be used in.
Document and presentation design
Proposals, reports, pitch decks and internal documents that need to look as considered as the business producing them. Well-designed documents are read more carefully and taken more seriously than poorly designed ones.
Design for web
Where graphic design feeds into a website project — photography direction, illustration, iconography, infographics or any other visual content — the work is handled with an understanding of how it will be used online, including how it will affect performance and search visibility.
Tools and file delivery
Work is produced using Adobe Creative Cloud, Affinity Suite, or Figma depending on the nature of the project and your requirements. Files are delivered in the formats you actually need — print-ready PDFs, editable source files, web-optimised exports — not just whatever is most convenient to produce.
If you work with other designers, printers or agencies and need files in a specific format or to a specific specification, that is not a complication. It is just part of the brief.
Who this is for
Graphic design work suits a wide range of clients and projects. You are probably in the right place if:
You are starting a business and need a visual identity that reflects the quality and character of what you are building, not a generic logo from a template service.
You have an existing brand that has evolved organically and no longer holds together consistently, and you want to bring it into line without losing what makes it recognisable.
You need specific design assets — a brochure, a deck, a set of social graphics — produced to a high standard without having to brief an agency and manage a large project.
You work with a designer already but occasionally need additional capacity or a second opinion on something specific.
"Creating my site was far less painful than I thought it would be. Mark accomplished the task professionally, efficiently and within the stated timescales. Much sooner than I expected, I found myself on Google."

Every graphic design project is different. The best starting point is a brief conversation about what you are trying to achieve, what you have to work with and what a good outcome looks like. From there I can give you a clear picture of what the work involves and what it will cost.
