Who we are

This website is operated by Mark Excell, a sole trader based in Minster Lovell, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX29. You can contact us at hello@markexcell.co.uk or by telephone on 07732 765398.

What information we collect

We only collect information that you provide to us directly. This happens in two circumstances.

When you use the contact form on this website, we collect your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message. If you are enquiring about the Search Health Check service, we also collect your business name and address for invoicing purposes.

When you contact us directly by email or telephone, we retain the information you share as part of that communication.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide solely to respond to your enquiry and, where a project or service is agreed, to fulfil that engagement. We do not use your information for marketing purposes, we do not add you to mailing lists and we do not share your information with third parties except where legally required to do so.

Where an invoice is raised, your name and business address are retained as part of our accounting records for a period of six years, as required by UK HMRC regulations.

The legal basis for processing your information

We process your personal information on the legal basis of legitimate interests: specifically, to respond to your enquiry and to fulfil any agreed service engagement. Where an invoice is involved, we process and retain your information on the basis of legal obligation under UK tax law.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use tracking cookies, analytics services or any third-party tools that collect personal data about your visit. No data about your browsing behaviour is collected or stored.

Your browser may store small preference files as part of standard website operation. These are functional in nature, do not identify you personally and are not used to track you across other websites. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.

How long we keep your information

Enquiry information is retained only for as long as is necessary to handle your enquiry and any resulting project. If no project results from your enquiry, your information is deleted within twelve months.

Invoice and accounting records are retained for six years from the date of the invoice, as required by UK law.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request that it be corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict our processing of it in certain circumstances. You also have the right to data portability where processing is based on consent or contract.

Complaints

If you believe your personal information has been handled incorrectly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Details are available at ico.org.uk. We would welcome the opportunity to address any concern directly before you contact the ICO.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will reflect when it was last revised. Continued use of this website after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
